Hello, I'm Sophia
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat based in New York, United States.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn’t in the plan for the long haul. As with countless expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar setups, fresh routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the fly. Yet over time, routines settled. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built PelvaNexilSovar
Most online content fell into either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap by offering practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in United States.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from residing in United States
- Centered on family living and daily realities
- Updated whenever genuine changes occur
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United States goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information is useful, I’ll continue sharing what we learn.
If you have inquiries about family life in New York or anywhere in United States, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Sophia
